O R I G I N S T O R Y
Hey everyone, I’m Adam!
I grew up near Detroit listening to underground British rock bands, New Wave, Grunge, and Shoegaze. I spent much of my time making mix tapes from a weak-signaled Canadian radio station across the border. With just the right angle of the antenna, I could tune into a soundscape that would forever hypnotize me with bands like The Cure, Catherine Wheel, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, New Order, Slowdive, Ride, and Our Lady Peace. I was strung out on screaming guitar textures laced in narcotic melodies. It was magical!
What grabbed me about songs were their lyrics. I gravitated towards poetry - sometimes abstract, literal, or with sarcastic frosting. I could express my feelings through creatively-placed words that meant something. One day after a heartbreak, I purchased my first electric guitar and signed up for lessons at a tiny, used music gear store. After my first 3 chords, I was hooked. I realized I could synthesize my love for poetry into lyrics. Music gave them a place to hang out.
I’m a total dreamer/romantic/clown. I love all that is sci-fi, and covet everything martial arts. I’ve seen almost every overdubbed tale of vengeance, sheathed in flying fists of poetic justice!
In the months ahead, I’m releasing a number of songs and videos that will give you a glimpse into who I am as a musician. I’ll entertain you with my humor, drum up a sense of nostalgia, and make you wonder about life beyond the Karman line.
So, welcome to my story of life, love, and aliens.
